The Black Woman: Truth or Ignorance?

Filed under: Dates — admin @ 2:16 am

If you have not viewed this video before reading this blog, please stop reading and IMMEDIATELY view the video before proceeding. I promise you, you won’t regret it.

If you have viewed the video, then the same one word is probably running through all of your minds: Disgust, Ignorance, Hypocrit, Self-Hate, Uncle Tom, Racist… Oops, did I say one word? Forgive me for thinking out loud.

In all seriousness, it is hard to see who this man hates more: black women or black men (i.e. himself). Before any of you men start chanting your revolutionary’s “He’s right,” or “Black Women do it to themselves,” just hold on and hear me out. Although it appears that this narrator is attacking black women, listen closely to what he says. For example, during his angry black man tyrade, the narrator says the following: “Whose been raising these no good black men?”; “Who chooses these losers?”; “Most black children are raised in single parent households.” Imbedded in his criticism of black women is the belief that most black men are no good. Think about it. Who is missing from these single parent households? It surely is not the black woman. And if these no good black men are being raised incorrectly, could it be that it is the absence of a black father figure that contributes to their improper upbringing? Don’t get me wrong, by no means am I saying it’s one person’s fault over another. I’m simply pointing out the absolute ignorance in this man’s logic.

Do black women make bad dating decisions? Absolutely. However, this problem isn’t peculiar to black women. I have several white friends who are with absolute losers. Contrary to what this narrator believes, there are an equal amount of white women with no good men. Black OR White. Can we say Brittany Spears? Kobe Bryant’s wife? Silda Spitzer? So where does that leave us? It’s quite simple actually: 1)This is clearly a deeply scorned lame black man who has been rejected by SEVERAL black women and is now lashing out, and 2) Ladies, don’t date the same type of man and expect different results.

Now enough of what I think. What do you think?

  1. Yea, this guy really does have a self hatred issue. There is some truth to what he is saying but the way he lashes out at the black woman and put all blame on them is not fair nor accurate. Its true that black women often make bad decisions regarding the guys they pick, but that does not relieve black men of their part in damaging the black family. One additional note, this guy is not offering any solutions. I’ve always felt that if you gonna provide criticism, then offer ways to fix the problem. Well thats what I think.

  2. This is a shame. I think that it is wrong to take some bad seeds and bad situations and catoregize an entire group. I agree w/ iMarc, there needs to be a solution offered, not just criticism. Just in my opinion…

  3. This blog is really unfair because it’s actually part of a series and the dude DOES offer solutions in the 3rd video. Everything should check out the other videos first.

  4. Overall he seems deluded and scorned. The whole thought process on blaming the feminists is not really accurate. And the way that he points out black celebs that are positive shows that he may indeed have a bias toward women that are independent. Oprah and Whoopi are empowering figures for women, but not all black women try to be like them. Just like all all blk males are not trying to be like Snoop and T.I. He also fails to talk about the role of black men. And I wonder if he has ever been around anyone that has grown up from black neighborhoods. He stereotyped us all. Not pointing out the positives that we grow through. Not accurately pointing out the vicitmization of women throughout history or the black male’s role in it. To say we had no role in oppressing women is ridiculous. I know, because I am a black male. He was correct in blaming corporations for dictating this view and fails to see that we are making progress past it. So what ppl. like Beyonce is a strong diva. She better be cause she got a strong baller like Jay-Z. Fallicies, man!

  5. Yeah they guy has some self esteem issues due to resentment from someone of color whether its from the brothers of sisters but he has some deep rooted issues…for a minute I thought it was 1965 and Jim Crow was vibrant….but on the other hand black brothers and sisters need to really think about the consquences that happen after some of their choices….to many times my black brothers think its chic to be a rapper instead of an educated man, be a baller and get the quick money, spend all his money on jewelry, false teeth and expensive cars, and every little “G” that see this thinks this is the black life…So we as blackmen need to start representing outselves in a more positive light…I really wish black men realize that what you do (in the eyes of white people) will reflect all blackmen….Blackmen know we are held to higher standards than our white counterparts….and we know this and we still keep calling referring to ourselves as “my nigger”…Now sisters need to be better role models too….I would really love to meet a young sister who has aspriations of being more than “Diamond” the stripper, “Video Hoe” or doing hair….Sisters are too intelligent to settle for such ethnic stere-typical assessments that life has led us to believe….Dont get me wrong there are pleny of sisters and brothers doing some good things for black people but there are far to many doing negative things to hurt all black people…..And thats the Truth…..

  7. This thing is so one sided its ridiculous and offensive to black people!! and the fact that the narrator professes to be a black man doesn’t absolve him of the fact that he is a bigot and hates black people. For one, people need to stop trying to lay blame on one group or another for all the woes of their society, take some responsibility, and come up with solutions and actions to fix problems. How much time time, energy, and money went into this video to spread hate and discontent between black men, black women, white women, and white men? Those resources and the thought power could have been used for doing something constructive like mentoring some of these boys in single family households that are growing up to be “degenerates” as the narrator calls them, or talking to young girls and women about the difference between constructive and destructive images in the media. The producer of this crap could have done a promotional You Tube video on the numerous black men and women who volunteer their time doing positive things in their communities, on college campuses, in high schools, etc. This guy hates his race so much that he would promote negative stereotypes aimed at creating greater hate and discontent among black men and women while assisting in tearing apart all the positives that productive black people exemplify. In addition, the societal issues he cites are not just limited to the black community. By looking at this, you would think that everything black is wrong and dysfunctional (and of course, caused by black women), while everything white is alright. Not so! Divas, bad boys, and selling sex are pervasive in all aspects of american society regardless of race. Again, this guy really hates black people. And it is absolutely disgusting that a black person would make something this offensive!!!!

  8. He delivery is troublesome to me. He is very dramatic and over the top, but with that being said there is a lot of truth to what he is saying if we choose to agree with it or not. People thought Bill Cosby was putting black people’s “dirty laundry” out in the public, but we, black people, see some of these things at some point in our lives, but turn a blind eye to it because we don’t want to admit it. There are a lot of good black women that take care of home they way they should and there are those that don’t. There are uright and educated black men and then there are those want to want around with thier pants hanging down and want to soud ignorant by the things they say and the way they say it. There are exceptions to every rule, but I happen to agree with him on some points in these videos I have seen here.
